Eurowaste at Ecomondo 2024: Leading the way in sustainable innovation
It was a chilly morning in Rimini, Italy, as the 27th edition of Ecomondo, one of Europe's biggest environmental events, kicked off with excitement.
Eurowaste was represented by CEO Wilfried Verhaegen and WasteStream Manager Pierre Colon. Together, they presented Eurowaste's latest developments and vision to revolutionise waste management across Europe.
Their presentation highlighted the future of the European Union's environmental policy and the vital role of companies like Eurowaste in shaping the green and circular economy. This year's Ecomondo theme was particularly timely: European Union environmental policy and its impact on the green and circular economy. The event provided a platform for experts, policymakers and innovators to showcase cutting-edge technologies for a more sustainable, circular economy in Europe and beyond.
It was an opportunity to showcase how the company aligns its strategies with the European Green Deal and broader EU environmental goals. Eurowaste highlighted the crucial role of innovations in waste management, recycling technologies and resource recovery in reducing Europe's carbon footprint and building a sustainable future.
The event also highlighted how EU policies are reshaping waste management practices across Europe and beyond. Companies and governments from different countries shared best practices, tackled common challenges and explored new opportunities for progress.
A wide range of countries participated in the event, including:
- Belgium
- Netherlands
- Luxembourg
- Austria
- Portugal
- Italy
- Croatia
- France
- Germany
- Spain
- Switzerland
Each country had its own unique take on environmental issues, from waste management to circular economy initiatives. Discussions ranged from pioneering recycling technologies to the importance of international cooperation on cross-border waste management solutions.
For Eurowaste, this international collaboration was an important experience. The company's team had the opportunity to network with leaders from different sectors, exchange ideas and learn from the different approaches used in different regions. Eurowaste's commitment to innovation and collaboration was strengthened by these discussions, with a shared vision of promoting sustainable waste management practices and contributing to the development of global environmental policies.
As the event drew to a close, the message was clear: the transition to a circular economy is not just an ambition - it is a necessity. And companies like Eurowaste are leading the way by providing solutions that help reduce waste, improve recycling and create a sustainable future for all.
For Eurowaste was Ecomondo 2024 not only a chance to showcase their work, but also a reaffirmation of their commitment to building a sustainable, circular economy. It was a moment to connect with like-minded organisations, gain insights from other leaders in this field and, most importantly, continue the conversation on how Europe - and the world - can achieve its environmental goals.
